Meet the Candidates that will collaborate together and not obstruct Greenwich Improvement

Sally Bednar

Sally's professional background includes accounting, finance and consulting. A seasoned FINANCIAL professional with a CPA (4 yrs @ Ernst & Young), three decades on Wall Street (18 yrs @ Morgan Stanley & 11 yrs @ Wells Fargo). A dedicated public servant serving her 2nd term on the Town of Greenwich RTM - District 6 (Old Greenwich) Sally also is serving a 2nd term on the Town’s Affordable Housing Trust Board and is Board Secretary.


Outside of government, Sally is an experienced board member serving on theFairfield Prep School Board (Chair of the Finance Committee) and the Fairfield University Investment Committee (Fairfield Prep rep). Co-chair Military MOMs of Greenwich, and active Lucas Point Association Committee Chair. Sally's educational background includes a BA from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA from New York University.

Joshua Brown

Josh Brown is a lifelong resident of this great Town. He worked as a management consultant for over 30 years, providing operational, organizational and systems consulting services to large and mid-sized companies.  Josh also served as a fiscal professional with two companies.

 

Josh is in his 32nd  year serving as a member of the Town’s Representative Town Meeting.  He was first elected to the RTM in north Greenwich (district 10) moved to Cos Cob and continued to serve (district 8), relocated and continued to serve again to central Greenwich (district 1) and most recently moved to Byram where he represents District Four).  During his 32 years of service, Josh was elected as the RTM Finance committee chair, then chair of the RTM Education committee, and currently chair of RTM Town Services Committee and Labor Contracts committee.  Additionally, hs served as chair of district 1 and served on two moderators committees, one to align the capital planning process with the plan of conservation and development and the second for RTM governance.  Josh also served on a committee to amend the Town charter. 

 

People know Josh as balanced, able to work and lead through challenges, and to define workable, pragmatic solutions.  His passion is to get things done through hard work, collaboration and civility, working with others for the best of Greenwich.

 

On the BET, Josh plans on working alongside Sally B, Joe K, Joe P, Harry F and Leslie L, for the betterment of our Town, for all of our Town.  He believes in challenging the status quo, and sees change as a good thing. Josh prides himself on being inclusive and respectful of others’ opinions.  He will work hard to make sure every dollar is spent wisely and leaders held accountable.

Harry Fisher

Harry Fisher is  a lifelong, third-generation resident of Greenwich, and a conservative Republican.   He has volunteered all his adult life, both in the private and public sectors.  He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET), a member of the Budget Committee, and liaison to the Julian Curtiss and Central Middle School Building Committees.


Among prior service was twelve years on his Cornell fraternity board, six years on the board of the American Lyme Disease Foundation, five years as Chairman of the Property Commission at Christ Church Greenwich, and many years on the board of the Round Hill Association.  In 1987, he was elected to the first of three terms on the RTM, with the last two spent as Chairman of District 10.  In 1991, Harry was elected to  the first of three terms on the BET, serving on the General Government and Budget Committees, and ending up as vice-Chairman.  He stepped off in 1997, after his daughter was born, opting for a "different night job".


Harry spent over 30 years in the investment management business, with Bankers Trust and United States Trust of New York being the most prominent.  He graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Economics.


Harry’s other interests have ranged from sailing, including many years of offshore racing, to skiing. 


Harry’s objective for the BET is to have a more cohesive republican representation and asks for your vote for Sally Bednar, Josh Brown, Joe Kelly, Joe Pelligrino, Leslie Tarkington and himself.

Joe Kelly

Joe is the CEO of Uranium Markets and recipient of the 2025 Sentinel Award. He serves on the CMS Building Committee, Havemeyer Committees, and is a Trustee for the Havemeyer Trust. He is a member of the RTM serving as Chairman of District 2 and serves on the Education and Labor Contract Committees. He spent 4 years on the BOE one year as Chairman. Joe served 4 years on the BOE Budget Committee, Chairman of the Labor Negotiations Committee, Chairman of Cardinal Stadium Project, Feasibility and Building Committees for Julian Curtiss, Policy Committee, Operations Planning Committee, Energy Management Advisory Committee (EMAC), and Executive Committee (ExComm) for GHS Student Government. He also served as BOE Liaison to Parks and Rec. He is Member of the Republican Town Committee (RTC) since 2020 Serving as District leader, Executive Committee member, Republican State Central Rep, Campaign Chair and Convention Delegate. Joe was a Volunteer Fireman in Greenwich from 2001-2011.  He was also the Head Rugby Coach at Greenwich High School from 2010-2020. Joe's prior experience includes 25 years in the fixed income (Bond) business working in senior management roles for large financial institutions in Tokyo, London and New York. He has also spent 40 years in Real Estate Development and is a serial Entrepreneur.

Joe Pellegrino

Joe is a former member of the BET (2009-2013) and chaired the Budget Committee from 2011-2013. Joe's more than 20 years of public service oncludes: RTM, BET, OPEB Trust, Retirement Board and Greenwich Library Board. He also chaired the Retirement Board from 2017-2021. Joe is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). He established P-Squared Capital Management in 2003 and manages client portfolios. Other experience includes 18 years as an investment banker. Joe is a third-generation Greenwich resident with deep roots in our community. His educational background includes an MBA from Columbia University.

Leslie Tarkington

Leslie Tarkington is the Board of Estimate and Taxation Budget Committee Chair.  Leslie previously served as the BET Vice Chair, Law and Human Resources Committees Chair, Clerk of the Board, and as a member of the Audit Committee.  She was a member of the Greenwich High School Music and Instructional Space and Auditorium (MISA) and Nathaniel Witherell Building Committees.  Ms. Tarkington was a member of The Nathaniel Witherell Board as its Secretary and Building Committee Chair.  She currently serves on the Northeast Greenwich Association and Greenwich Symphony Orchestra Boards.


Ms. Tarkington was a senior banker, advisor, and investor in the global relationship group of Citibank, NA, where her experience spanned diverse capital intensive industry groups.  Earlier, she was a senior analyst with financial budgeting and control responsibility in Ford Motor Company’s US Government contracts division.

Ms. Tarkington holds an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and is a graduate of Connecticut College.  She and her husband are long-term residents of Greenwich.


As a lifelong Republican, Ms. Tarkington has volunteered for the campaigns of national, state, and local candidates. She was a member of the Greenwich Republican Town Committee and its Executive Committee for two decades. She looks forward to serving on the BET with the Bednar, Brown, Fisher, Kelly, Pellegrino, Tarkington slate of candidates.
